Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-26
This policy covers voidlit.com, the playtests we host on voidlit.com addresses, and the games covered in the game notes below (Wavesworn, at play.wavesworn.com). VoidLit Studio is a studio of KPsN Inc. ("we"). Questions go to the owner on the VoidLit Discord.
Analytics
We count visits with Umami, which we run on our own server. It records the page you visit, the site that sent you, your browser, operating system, device type, and country. Playtests can also send game events, such as "run started" or "level reached", with game values like scores and level names. They never send names, emails, account IDs, or text you type.
Umami does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, does not record the query string or fragment of a URL, and does not track you across other sites. We delete analytics data after 6 months. We do not share it or sell it.
Hosting
Cloudflare hosts this site and our playtests. To deliver pages and block attacks, Cloudflare processes request data such as your IP address and browser details. Read the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Invite-only playtests
Some playtests are invite-only. To sign in, you enter your email address and Cloudflare Access sends you a one-time code. We keep your email address in that playtest's tester list until we remove you or you ask us to remove you.
Messages
If you message us on Discord, Discord's privacy policy covers that message. We keep your message only as long as we need it to answer you.
Other sites
We link to Discord, Steam, itch.io, and other sites. They have their own privacy policies.
Your choices
To ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it, send a direct message to the owner on the VoidLit Discord.
Changes
When we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top.
KPsN Inc. is based in New York, USA.
Game notes
Wavesworn
Wavesworn uses Discord to sign you in. We ask Discord only for the “identify” permission. We never ask for your email address or your server list. Wavesworn game data is stored on a server that the studio runs. It is not stored on Cloudflare.
What we store. We store your Discord user ID. We store one name for you, your captain name. It starts as your Discord display name, or your Discord username if you have no display name. If that name is not valid or another player has it, we give you a name like “Captain 1234”. We also store:
- the date you created the account;
- your ship, your captain (your gold, experience, titles, achievements, and other progress), and the cosmetic items you own;
- a hash of your login token and its expiry time, which keep you signed in;
- the account ID and time of every sign-in;
- game events with your account ID, and running totals of your play;
- your guild’s details, if you are in a guild;
- a leaderboard entry with your name and score for each season you take part in;
- if you are banned, the reason and end date, and if you are muted, the end date (mutes store no reason);
- reports about you, and reports you send, with their reason and the chat lines attached;
- a record of any action a moderator or the owner takes on your account, with the target and details, and the moderator account on bans, mutes, and resolved reports.
Public pages. Anyone can read the Wavesworn boards and a captain profile without signing in. They show your captain name, level, rank, titles, achievements, the date you created your account, and lifetime totals such as kills, distance sailed, sales, and ports visited. You can hide your captain in the game. A hidden captain has no public profile and is left off the lifetime boards.
Why. We store your Discord user ID so that you sign in to the same account each time. We store your name to show you to other players. We store your ship, captain, items, and season entries to save your progress and run the seasons. We store login tokens and sign-in records to keep you signed in and to run the game. We store mutes, bans, reports, and moderator records to moderate the game. We record game events and totals to see how the game is played.
How long. We keep your account and its data until you ask us to delete it. Game event records are deleted after 90 days. Expired mutes are removed by a daily cleanup. We do not delete sign-in records, moderator records, season leaderboard entries, bans, reports, or expired login token records on a schedule. We keep them until the account is deleted. Backups of the game database are deleted after 14 days by default, and always within 30 days.
Analytics. play.wavesworn.com uses the same Umami page analytics as this site, described above.
Access and deletion. To see the Wavesworn data we hold about you, or to delete your Wavesworn account and its data, send a direct message on Discord to the VoidLit owner. You can find the owner in the VoidLit Discord server; the link is in the site footer. Before we act, we confirm that the account is yours with a direct message from the Discord account itself. We delete the account and its data from the live database. Backup copies are deleted within 30 days.
